Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead and oversee all accounting and financial reporting operations. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial information, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting organizational decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Manage and improve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts
- Analyze financial results and provide insights to support business strategy
- Coordinate external audits and serve as primary point of contact for auditors
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Develop and mentor accounting team members, fostering a high-performance culture
- Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- Proven experience in financial reporting, internal controls, and audit management
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial best practices
- Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
