LHH is hiring for a Controller for a client of ours in the Pittsburgh area.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial reporting. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Proven working experience as a Controller or senior-level accountant.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
