LHH is assisting a client with their need for a Cash Applications Specialist. This is a new position to add to a growing team. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive compensation and benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply and post daily customer payments accurately and on time.
- Research and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, overpayments, and payment discrepancies.
- Support credit memo processing and ensure related transactions are documented correctly.
- Assist with refund processing in accordance with internal procedures and controls.
- Provide basic support for tax administration processes and coordinate with internal stakeholders as needed.
- Reconcile cash activity and maintain accurate records to support accounts receivable reporting.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve remittance, billing, and customer account issues.
- Support process transitions and standardization efforts as operations consolidate over time.
- Work with banking platforms and payment information, including activity related to Wells Fargo accounts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in cash application processes, accuracy, and turnaround time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cash applications and accounts receivable required.
- Basic knowledge of credit memo processing, tax administration, and refunds.
- Acquisition or integration experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills.
- Comfort working with payment data, bank reporting, and transaction research.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP or accounting systems is helpful.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a changing environment.
