A growing manufacturing-focused organization is seeking a Bookkeeper to join its team on a temp-to-hire basis. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys variety in their day and can easily shift between accounting, payroll, administrative, and customer-facing responsibilities. This position will sit onsite in Columbus, OH and offers a 4-day work week Monday through Friday with 10 hour days.
The company is currently navigating several important initiatives, including the implementation of a new ERP system, and needs a dependable team member who can take ownership of daily accounting functions while supporting leadership with special projects. This role will have significant visibility and offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact.
Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle accounts payable and support accounts receivable activities
- Perform account reconciliations for bank accounts, general ledger accounts, credit cards, customer balances, and vendor statements
- Enter and process biweekly payroll for approximately 40 employees
- Assist with month-end close activities, financial reporting, and audit preparation
- Maintain accurate accounting records, filing systems, and supporting documentation
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related accounting support role
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations
- Payroll processing experience ideal but can be taught
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial recordkeeping
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas and formatting) and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and transition between responsibilities throughout the day
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
- Professional communication skills with customers, vendors, and internal teams
