Our client, a well-established and growing organization in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join their accounting team. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, maintaining customer accounts, and supporting the overall revenue cycle process.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and experience working in a fast-paced accounting or administrative environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process customer invoices accurately and timely
- Verify billing data and resolve discrepancies prior to invoicing
- Maintain customer billing records and account information
- Research and resolve billing inquiries from customers and internal departments
- Monitor outstanding invoices and assist with collections efforts as needed
- Process adjustments, credits, and account reconciliations
- Collaborate with accounting, sales, and operations teams to ensure billing accuracy
- Generate billing reports and assist with month-end closing activities
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and efficiency
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- 2 years of billing, accounts receivable, accounting, or related experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
