About the Role
Legal Billing Specialist
- 3 years of experience in attorney billing required. This position could potentially manage other billers if they have that experience but once the team grows.
Responsibilities
- Legal Billing
- Drafting, editing and preparing pre-bills and final bills per attorney/client specifications and/or guidelines.
- Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation, as required.
- Manage the requirements for clients who use e-billing to ensure billing is completed timely and accurately.
- Research and respond to billing inquiries.
- Generate billing statements and production reports, as requested.
- Accounts Receivable/Payable
- Entering deposits in billing system to coincide with accounting system
- Depositing checks daily via bank check reader
- Entering and monitoring payables in accounting systems
- Monitoring IOLTA account and associated spreadsheet
- Running Conflict Checks
- Setting up new client matters
- Researching accounting/billing issues and working towards a resolve with other team members
- Administrative support for various projects as assigned

Work Schedule
8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, 4 days onsite, 1 remote day offered after approximately 2 months of training (non-negotiable). Remote day is selected based on rotation and team availability.
Team Environment
Collaborative team of HR 4 office services staff, including a junior receptionist. All team members are cross-trained and help one another (excluding HR). The team values cooperation, communication, and consistency.
