Staff Accountant (Long-Term Contract)Location: Englewood, NJ (100% Onsite)Schedule: Full-Time, OnsiteType: Long-Term ContractPay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hourA well-established organization in Englewood, NJ is seeking a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract assignment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong reconciliation experience and a solid understanding of month-end processes. You will work closely with the accounting team to support daily, weekly, and monthly financial activities.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete multiple monthly bank reconciliations using Excel (including VLOOKUPs and other formulas)Identify and record reconciling items and prepare necessary adjusting journal entriesPerform month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, cash and bank activity, and patient/cashier uploadsResearch, validate, and correct accounting entries as neededPrepare balance sheet account reconciliations, including payroll liabilities, accruals, and prepaidsConduct account analysis, reviewing month actuals vs. budget for assigned accountsPrepare, validate, and file weekly payroll tax payments with IRS and state agencies (training provided)Assist with year-end audits, including preparing schedules, collecting documentation, and supporting analysisProvide support on special projects and perform other duties as assignedQualificationsStrong knowledge of accounting principles (debits/credits, accruals, prepaids)Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and reconciliation toolsExperience with monthly close processes and account reconciliationStrong attention to detail and analytical skillsAbility to work onsite full time and collaborate with the accounting teamPayroll tax experience is a plus but not required (training available)Why This Contract Role?Stable, long-term assignment with ongoing responsibilitiesHands-on involvement in full-cycle accountingSupportive team environment with opportunities to learn new processesValuable experience in reconciliations, close activities, and audit supportFor Immediate Consideration: Please email resumes to christine.kiernan@lhh.comBenefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
