We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our client in Charlotte, NC. This role will be responsible for managing employee expense reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies, maintaining accurate general ledger records, and supporting month-end and year-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience working with high-volume financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, audit, and process employee expense reports for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.
- Ensure timely reimbursement of employee expenses and resolution of reporting discrepancies.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to travel and entertainment expenses, corporate credit cards, accruals, and other operating expenses.
- Reconcile expense-related balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Analyze expense trends and provide reporting to support management decision-making.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of expense management processes and controls.
- Collaborate with employees and department leaders regarding expense policies and procedures.
- Assist with special projects, financial reporting, and ad hoc analyses as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
- Experience processing employee expense reports and corporate credit card transactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis functions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with Concur, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or other ERP/accounting systems.
- Experience supporting month-end close processes.
- Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 (depending on experience)
