LHH is partnering with a growing construction company who is looking for a Project Accountant for their team. This role will support day-to-day accounting and project financial operations. This person will work closely with Project Managers, Accounting, and Operations to ensure accurate cost tracking, billing, and financial reporting across multiple active projects. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of accounting experience and be comfortable handling a variety of tasks. The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:
- Process and code vendor invoices, subcontractor pay applications, and expense reports
- Assist with job cost tracking and ensure expenses are aligned with project budgets
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate project financial records and documentation
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions
- Track and manage lien releases, certificates of insurance, and compliance documents
- Support month-end close, including accruals and reporting
- Coordinate with project teams to monitor budget vs. actuals
- Prepare financial reports for leadership as needed
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field
- Five or more years of accounting, finance, or project coordination experience
- Experience in construction, engineering, or related industry preferred
- Familiarity with progress billing is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP preferred)
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Viewpoint, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Professional communication skills
