Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records
- Perform account reconciliations and review balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Assist with daily cash balancing and loan balancing activities
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances
- Prepare and maintain documentation supporting financial transactions
- Collaborate with senior accounting staff on accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements
- Assist with internal and external audits, including financial statement audits
- Support internal control initiatives and compliance activities
- Partner with various departments to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the accounting function
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA designation preferred
- 2-3 years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience working with accounting or ERP systems
- Ability to quickly learn new software and technology platforms
