HR Coordinator - Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist | Remote HR Operations Role
We're seeking an HR Coordinator - LOA Specialist to support end-to-end Leave of Absence administration for a remote HR operations team. This role focuses on managing LOA cases, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and partnering with internal HR teams and third-party vendors to deliver a seamless employee experience.
What You'll Do:
Manage the full lifecycle of Leave of Absence (LOA) cases from intake to resolution
Review, interpret, and respond to leave and disability updates from a third-party administrator (Alight)
Maintain accurate leave records in Workday and ensure alignment with internal reporting and vendor data feeds
Process leave extensions, intermittent leave tracking, and return-to-work documentation
Serve as the primary escalation point for LOA-related inquiries and employee concerns
Triage complex or sensitive cases to HR Business Partners, Legal, or Employee Relations as needed
Support additional HR operational and administrative tasks as required
What You Bring:
3 years of HR experience (or equivalent HR and administrative/office management background)
1 year of direct experience in Leave of Absence administration, HR operations, or HR compliance
Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and multi-state leave laws (including CA, MA, MN, OR, WA, CT, DC, HI, ME)
Experience using HR or leave management systems such as Workday or similar platforms
Strong ability to manage high-volume caseloads with accuracy, consistency, and empathy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive employee information
High school diploma required; additional HR-related education or certification is a plus

Pay Details: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
