Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test low-voltage systems including structured cabling, fiber optic networks, Ethernet, and telecommunication systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate system setup.
• Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to establish high-speed data connections.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools and telecommunications testing equipment to identify faults quickly.
• Terminate cables such as Cat5, Cat6, and other network cabling with precision to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct network wiring, equipment repair, and maintenance for telecommunications systems including VoIP, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Avaya systems.
• Test radio frequency (RF) signals and perform network installation tasks in various environments such as data centers or commercial buildings.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a service technician or installer in low-voltage electrical or telecommunications systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems including AC/DC wiring, NEC standards, and low-voltage electrical wiring practices.
• Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN configurations, Ethernet protocols, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and network cabling standards.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters, multimeters, and specialized testing equipment for troubleshooting.
• Skilled in the installation of structured cabling systems including Cat5e/6/6a cables and fiber optic cables with proper cable termination techniques.
• Experience working with telecommunication equipment such as telephony systems (including VoIP), radio frequency testing, and data center infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools in various environments while adhering to safety standards.
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients during installations or troubleshooting sessions.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
