Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test electrical security systems such as alarms, CCTV cameras, sensors, access control devices, and fire alarm systems according to schematics and electrical blueprints.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of security equipment to ensure optimal performance across various sites.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for system design and installation purposes.
- Diagnose issues related to low-voltage electrical systems, computer hardware interfacing, network connectivity, and remote access software.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform cabling, equipment mounting, and electrical wiring tasks in construction or retrofit environments.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support for physical security system problems involving alarms, surveillance cameras, door security integration, and intercom systems.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs, offer system design solutions including alarm & access control systems sales, and deliver exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in electrical security system installation and maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints related to low-voltage electrical wiring.
- Hands-on experience with CCTV surveillance systems, sensors (motion detectors), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), fire alarm systems, and door security integration.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts relevant to security systems including remote access software and telecommunication protocols.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues involving cabling, power supplies, low-voltage electrical systems, and electronic components using appropriate tools.
- Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safe electrical wiring practices.
- Construction or building experience is preferred for seamless integration into various environments.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel between job sites as needed.
