Accounts Payable Specialist

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting department.

Position Overview:

The Construction Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process within our construction division. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in construction accounting and a solid understanding of construction payment procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

· Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring your adherence to company policies and procedures.

· Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate approvals.

· Prepare and process payment requests, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers, on time.

· Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions.

· Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment-related inquiries.

· Collaborate with the project management team to ensure proper coding and allocation of expenses.

· Assist with the preparation of financial reports and analysis as needed.

· Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices related to accounts payable.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· 3 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction industry

· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Procontractor) and Microsoft Excel

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

· Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy

· Knowledge of construction payment procedures and lien laws is a plus
