Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Administrator, where your expertise will drive accurate and timely payroll processing for our organization. In this vital role, you will manage payroll operations, ensure compliance with financial, union, and tax regulations, and support human resources initiatives related to employee compensation. Your attention to detail and proficiency with payroll and accounting software will help us maintain seamless financial operations, foster employee satisfaction, and uphold our commitment to transparency and efficiency.
Duties
- Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees. Including but not limited to: wage rates, fringes, deductions, vacation/personal days, and benefit contributions.
- Administer prevailing wage and certified payroll in compliance with federal, New York State, and New York City regulations.
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports accurately and on time to the department head and/or Project PM/Accountant.
- Calculate union benefits, pension, annuity, health, and welfare contributions
- Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and the project labor agreement (PLA).
- Maintain accurate payroll records, job cost allocations, and labor distributions
- Work closely with project management and accounting teams to reconcile labor costs for change orders.
- Assist with audits from 3rd-party firms, including union, payroll, and government compliance audits.
- Handle day-to-day employee payroll questions, comments and/or concerns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- 5 years of payroll experience within the construction industry
- Strong experience with union payroll, prevailing wage, and certified payroll
- In-depth knowledge of union benefits and contributions
- Familiarity with federal and state labor laws, wage compliance, and payroll regulations
- Excel skills- experience with creating and editing spreadsheets.
- Ability to manage multiple payrolls and deadlines simultaneously weekly.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
