JOB SUMMARY:
Primary job responsibilities include preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly financial statement close process, assisting in the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and processing of accounts payable.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare general ledger journal entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts and supporting the monthly close process.
- Maintain monthly close timetable to assist in meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.
- Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of significant balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Assist in automating recurring accounting, reporting and reconciliation processes and help improve significant account processes.
- Assist in the daily recording of accounts payable transactions including the processing of invoices for payment.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Operate appropriate controls and maintain process documentation.
- Utilize designated accounting system, spreadsheets and presentation software.
- Answer accounting questions and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Provide detailed analysis and explanations of specified transactions.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors, as needed.
- Protect LendingPoint’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Follow LendingPoint’s established accounting processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin or Economics degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance related roles - Financial Services sector experience preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of accounting and control principles/procedures required.
- Efficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and internet savvy.
