What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at Ledgent?
We are partnering with a growing organization in Greenwood Village, CO to identify a Payroll Specialist for a contract engagement. This role will support end-to-end payroll processing and ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across a multi-state employee population.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Paycom and can step in quickly to manage payroll operations in a fast-paced environment.
This position is paying between $25/hr and $28/hr depending on experience.
- Process biweekly and/or semi-monthly payroll in Paycom for a multi-state workforce
- Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time, including wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
- Maintain and audit employee payroll records for accuracy and compliance
- Handle payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and applicable withholdings
- Perform payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Support year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- 3 years of payroll processing experience
- Required: Direct experience with Paycom (implementation or heavy usage preferred)
- Experience processing payroll for multi-state employees
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Excel (lookups, basic formulas, data analysis)
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
3 years of payroll processing experience
