What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at Ledgent?
The Billing Specialist is responsible for administering interstate, intrastate, and local billing while ensuring accurate revenue distribution and invoicing of orders. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate records, supporting revenue collection, and contributing to the efficiency of the accounting department.
Distribute revenue from rated bills of lading in a timely and accurate manner to ensure proper allocation to drivers, salespersons, and agents involved with each order.
Post revenue and invoices for shipments, including agent storage invoices.
Generate and mail invoices (excluding storage invoices) promptly to maximize company receivables.
Coordinate with reconciliation teams to post all revenue adjustments for accurate bookkeeping.
Complete special assignments as directed by the Accounting Manager.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and effective time management.
High computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with billing systems required.
Prior experience with Movers Suite is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team of billing specialists, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Adhere to company conduct guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Work standard office hours (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) or per an agreed schedule with management.
