What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Ledgent?
We are seeking an Accounting Clerk for a short‑term special project. This role supports identification, due diligence, reporting, and submission of unclaimed funds.
- Identify potential unclaimed property (uncashed checks, deposits, refunds, etc.)
- Run and analyze ERP reports; apply state dormancy rules
- Research, verify, and validate outstanding items
- Prepare and send due‑diligence notices to property owners
- Track responses and update records
- Prepare state escheat reports and reconcile to the general ledger
- Coordinate review and approval with Finance leadership
- Submit reports and support remittance of funds
- Maintain documentation and audit trail
- 2 years of accounting or finance support experience
- Strong Excel and ERP system skills
- High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with escheat/unclaimed property or government accounting preferred
