Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Staff Accountant to join the finance team. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit accounting experience and strong knowledge of NetSuite ERP. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly and annual close processes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.

This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly and annual close processes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger and post journal entries in NetSuite.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations, including restricted and unrestricted fund tracking.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor grant funding, track restricted funds, and assist with grant reporting and compliance.
- Reconcile donor management systems (e.g., Salesforce, DonorPerfect) with NetSuite on a monthly basis.
- Support the preparation of audit schedules and assist with annual audits.
- Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and internal reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational internal controls.
- Collaborate with departments to provide financial insights and reporting.
- Continuously improve accounting processes and support implementation of NetSuite features and customizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Proficiency in NetSuite is required; experience with NetSuite Nonprofit SuiteSuccess a plus.
- Knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting principles and GAAP.
- Experience with grant accounting and reporting strongly preferred.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with donor management or CRM systems
- Familiarity with federal grant compliance
- Understanding of budgeting and forecasting within a nonprofit context.
