Position Overview
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is a leader in the service and distribution industry, a supplier to the building construction industry. They are currently seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant. Located in California, this role supports a growing company that caters to increased market demand in the U.S. for new construction and aftermarket commercial HVAC equipment.
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for Accounts Payable/Receivable functions, escalating vendor inquiries and discrepancies to the service team.
- Review and approve invoices from vendors, monitor aging reports, and handle invoice dispute activities.
- Maintain sound relationships with vendors and provide prompt support to the company's service operation team.
- Perform monthly physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
- Prepare inventory purchase orders and submit them for approval.
- Review and process employee expense reports.
- Assist with month-end close processes.
- Prepare general ledger entries and AP/AR account reconciliations.
- Conduct bank account reconciliations.
- Participate in daily service meetings.
- Support other activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- 3 years of accounting experience; inventory control experience is strongly preferred.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational abilities.
- Outstanding attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
Required Work Hours
Monday to Friday, 1st shift
Pay Range: $36.00 - $41.00 per hour
