Construction Estimator

Leander Construction, a Central Illinois general contractor, is seeking a detail-oriented

and analytical Construction Estimator to join our team. This role is critical to our

preconstruction process, helping to ensure accurate, competitive, and well-planned project

bids. We’re looking for a candidate who can evaluate project documents, develop reliable

cost estimates, and collaborate with our project management team to set projects up for

success.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of commercial construction experience in construction estimating

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience preferred

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost structures

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction

• Prepare conceptual and detailed cost estimates

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents

• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing

• Assist with value engineering and scope review

• Collaborate with project managers to support project handoff and budgeting

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating/project management software

• High attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
