Civil Litigation / Insurance Defense Attorney
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite; remote may be considered for highly qualified candidates
A well-established and highly regarded civil defense litigation practice is seeking an experienced Attorney to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigator who enjoys substantive case responsibility, sophisticated defense work, and the ability to grow their earnings beyond base compensation.
The practice represents insurers, businesses, professionals, and other institutional clients in a diverse range of civil defense matters.

Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active and in-good-standing South Carolina Bar membership preferred/required as applicable
- 5 years of civil litigation experience
- Insurance defense experience strongly preferred
- Strong research, writing, discovery, and case-management skills
- Ability to independently manage litigation files
- Strong communication and client-service skills
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $140,000 – $150,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
In addition to base compensation, attorneys become eligible to receive 25% of collections above 2x their salary once the applicable threshold is achieved, as well as potential discretionary bonus compensation.
