I’m currently recruiting for a Construction / General Liability Litigation Associate Attorney to join an established national defense litigation firm with a sophisticated litigation practice and a strong reputation for client service.

The Role

You’ll handle a diverse litigation caseload involving insurance defense, general liability, premises liability, transportation/auto liability, trucking and construction-related disputes.

The role offers substantial exposure to sophisticated litigation and the opportunity to take increasing ownership of matters while working alongside experienced attorneys and Partners.

What You'll Do

• Independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Handle court appearances, depositions, mediations and trial-related activities
• Defend matters involving:
• Construction litigation
• General liability
• Premises liability
• Auto & transportation liability
• Trucking
• NYS Labor Law
• Insurance defense & casualty
• Develop case strategy and work closely with Partners on significant matters
• Communicate directly with clients, claims professionals and other stakeholders
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and substantive legal correspondence
• Evaluate liability, damages and exposure and provide strategic recommendations
• Continue developing your litigation and substantive legal expertise

What We're Looking For

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in New York
• 4 years of litigation experience
• Experience handling insurance defense, general liability and/or premises liability matters
• Experience taking cases through mediation and/or trial
• Strong deposition, motion practice and courtroom experience
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and communicate effectively with clients
• Knowledge of NYS Labor Law §§ 200, 240 and 241 is a plus
• OSHA hearing experience is a plus

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $180,000 – $220,000 Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
