We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Planner to support the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing operations in a CPG environment. This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and continuously improving maintenance programs, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies.
The Maintenance Planner works closely with maintenance, production, and operations teams to ensure equipment uptime, optimize maintenance schedules, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance plans to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Create and maintain maintenance schedules, task lists, and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Coordinate weekly maintenance planning and align activities with production schedules
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve reliability
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment failures
- Maintain and update maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS/SAP) to ensure accurate data and reporting
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize maintenance activities and support operational needs
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors, including sourcing and purchase requisitions
- Partner with inventory/storeroom teams to manage spare parts and materials
- Support safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements within maintenance operations
- Associate degree, technical certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in maintenance or a related field
- 2 years of experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment (food or CPG preferred)
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance principles
- Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Proficiency in CMMS systems (SAP or similar preferred)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Planner or Maintenance Supervisor
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., TPM, Lean)
- Understanding of maintenance cost drivers and operational efficiency
- Compensation: $80,000 – $85,000 annually
- Eligibility for performance-based bonus
