Our client is a publicly-traded, commercial-stage biopharma that is seeking a Senior Director of Commercial Compliance to join the growing team. The organization has a successful blockbuster product with a growing pipeline and is dedicated to developing and delivering therapies for rare diseases.
This individual will serve as a senior compliance leader and key advisor to business stakeholders, providing practical, risk-based guidance across a broad range of commercial activities. In addition, the role will support day-to-day commercial compliance needs, including preparing and delivering training materials, advising on incentive compensation (IC) plans, and providing ongoing guidance to commercial teams. This is a highly visible role reporting into the Global Chief Compliane Officer.Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic Compliance Business Partner to Commercial and other functional teams, providing proactive guidance on business initiatives
- Support day-to-day commercial compliance needs, including, preparing and delivering training materials, advising on incentive compensation (IC) plans, providing ongoing guidance to commercial stakeholders
- Provide compliance review and oversight of activities including, HCP engagements and advisory boards, needs assessments and meetings (internal and external), patient support and patient services programs, promotional and non-promotional materials
- Advise on business initiatives through application of legal and compliance frameworks, including review of documentation and agreements in collaboration with Legal
- Support development and delivery of broader compliance training and communications
- Lead and support third-party risk management activities, including due diligence and ongoing oversight of vendors and partners
- Participate in governance forums (e.g., grant committees, business reviews) and provide compliance input to support decision-making
- Contribute to monitoring, risk assessment, and investigation activities, including identifying trends and supporting remediation efforts
- Support development and continuous improvement of compliance policies, procedures, and infrastructure
- Communicate compliance risks, trends, and insights to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (JD, MBA, CPA) or equivalent legal/compliance training preferred
- 8 years of compliance experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences organizations
- Demonstrated experience supporting commercial functions in a compliance business partner capacity
- Strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and industry codes
- Prior experience in a business-facing compliance role within a biopharmaceutical company
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements in a practical, business-oriented manner
