My client, a well-established national AmLaw 100 law firm with multiple Chambers rankings, is seeking a Complex Litigation Associate to join its growing Phoenix office. This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-exposure matters within a collaborative and supportive environment that values long-term career development.
Compensation: 150K-225K Depending on Experience
About the Role:
This position offers hands-on experience across a broad range of complex litigation matters, including:
- General liability
- Premises liability
- Transportation
- Personal injury
- Insurance and other civil litigation matters
Associates will have the opportunity to manage cases from inception through resolution, working closely with experienced partners while taking on meaningful responsibility early.
Who They're Looking For:
The team is intentionally flexible on background and class year, targeting attorneys with 3 years of litigation experience, with the flexibility to hire at the Associate and Of Counsel level.
Strong candidates may come from a variety of practices, including:
- General liability / insurance defense
- Personal injury (plaintiff or defense)
- Employment litigation
- Premises liability or transportation
- General Litigation with an interest in GL
Importantly, the firm is also open to:
- Attorneys looking to transition into complex defense litigation from adjacent practice areas
- Plaintiff-side attorneys interested in moving to the defense side
- Litigators with strong foundational skills (writing, depositions, case management), even if their experience is outside of traditional general liability
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an active caseload from intake through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
- Take and defend depositions
- Appear in court and attend mediations
- Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic updates
- Collaborate with a broader national team on complex matters
