Job Summary (Senior AI/ML Software Developer)
- Hybrid position: 2 days/week onsite in South Austin; local candidates only
- 6 month contract, State of TX client (state client experience preferred)
- Design, build, and deploy production-grade machine learning (ML) systems for real-world users at scale
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, AI-driven solutions
- Work across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) to deploy/manage ML workloads
- Contribute to MLOps infrastructure (MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, etc.) and CI/CD pipelines
- Specialize in one or more AI/ML areas:
- Natural Language Processing & LLMs (transformers, RAG, prompt engineering)
- Time Series & Anomaly Detection (forecasting, sequential data modeling)
- Recommender Systems (collaborative filtering, personalization, ranking)
- Computer Vision (object detection, segmentation, real-time inference)
- Build and deploy at least 2 3 ML models in production environments
- Optimize, scale, and monitor ML models for efficiency and performance (quantization, pruning, distributed training)
- Work with Python as the primary language (3 5 years of production experience)
- Use DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines)
- Manage data using SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL/vector databases
- Script automation workflows in Bash and PowerShell
- Ensure compliance with public sector data governance and security standards
- Analyze and process geospatial data (GIS); experience with infrastructure/vehicular computer vision data
- Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or smart city sectors required
