Lafayette Club, located on the scenic shores of Lake Minnetonka, is hiring a Seasonal Banquet Cook to join our hardworking and close-knit Culinary Team. We’re seeking a dependable, team-oriented individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. This is a vital role that supports the success of every dining experience at the Club.
Summary
The Experienced Banquet Cook prepares food items for all banquet events, including breakfasts, luncheons, dinners and special events. In addition to cooking, the Banquet Cook will have carving and/or other buffet station duties as needed. This position contributes to a memorable guest experience through the preparation of exceptional food, thoughtful presentation, and a commitment to hospitality and service. Ideal candidates bring at least 2 years of cooking experience in fine dining, private club, or resort settings, with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. The food safety certification, ServSafe, is also required.
This position will work primarily afternoon and evening shifts.
Job Tasks/Duties
· Collect food and beverage products and small wares required for item preparation.
· Operate food production equipment according to manufacturers’ instructions.
· Carefully follow standard recipes while preparing assigned items for banquet service.
· Assists in plating food items for service.
· Notifies Banquet Sous-Chef or kitchen management in advance of expected product shortages.
· Handle leftover food items as instructed by the Banquet Sous-Chef.
· Make sure that all items are wrapped, dated, labeled, and stored properly.
· Return soiled food preparation utensils and small wares to the proper areas.
· Clean banquet preparation, serving equipment and assigned workstation areas.
· Consistently use safe and sanitary food handling practices.
· Carves food on buffet line.
· Keep walk-ins clean and organized.
· Attend kitchen staff meetings.
· Sets-up plating line for banquets and assists with plating duties.
· Assists with preparation of other food products in any other area of the kitchen as needed.
· Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Banquet Sous-Chef.
Licenses and Special Requirements
· Food safety certification (ServSafe) is required.
Education and/or Experience
· Must be 18 years of age or older.
· Two years of culinary experience is required.

· Can cook and execute proper plate presentation for banquet menu items.

· Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
