LABUR is partnering with a client to identify a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep, hands-on experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation in AWS environments. This is a senior-level role for an engineer who can operate independently, hit the ground running, and immediately contribute to improving pipeline reliability, security, and deployment velocity. The primary focus of this role is CI/CD pipeline ownership, with a strong emphasis on integrating and enhancing infrastructure automation directly within those pipelines. The engineer will work closely with application development teams to streamline deployments and reduce manual release effort.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust GitLab CI/CD pipelines with a focus on automation, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Integrate Infrastructure as Code workflows directly into CI/CD pipelines using AWS CloudFormation.
- Lead the integration of security scanning, automated testing, smoke testing, and regression testing to reduce manual release steps.
- Partner closely with application development teams to improve deployment processes and enable faster, more consistent releases.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tooling using Python and Bash to support pipeline automation and IaC deployments.
- Support and operate AWS infrastructure in multi-region environments, including architectures with centralized networking accounts and Transit Gateway (TGW) routing.
- Provide guidance and best practices around DevOps standards, pipeline design, and infrastructure automation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD, infrastructure, and deployment issues across production and non-production environments.
- Refactor and improve existing pipelines by eliminating technical debt and manual processes.
- Senior-level experience with GitLab, including advanced GitLab CI/CD pipeline design and optimization.
- Strong Bash and Python development experience, with Python primarily used for automation scripts related to IaC deployments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including VPC, ECS, and CloudFormation (used exclusively for infrastructure).
- Experience supporting multi-region AWS architectures, including centralized networking models and Transit Gateway (TGW) routing.
- Proven ability to integrate security scanning and automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of DevOps best practices, automation-first principles, and release engineering.
- Experience working closely with application development teams to improve deployment strategies and release workflows.
- Familiarity with containerized application deployments in AWS ECS environments.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal hand-holding and take ownership of CI/CD and infrastructure automation initiatives end-to-end.
- Experience in the insurance industry is helpful but not required.
$80–$90 per hour - Dependent on fit and experience.
