Payroll Accounting Specialist

TITLE:  Payroll Accounting Specialist

REPORTS TO:   Operations Controller

SUMMARY: Process payroll for up to 10 entities operating in multiple states.   

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process payroll for up to 10 companies (weekly)
• Calculate and remit federal payroll taxes
• Calculate and remit state payroll taxes (multiple states)
• Prepare quarterly state and federal unemployment returns
• Prepare quarterly 941 and yearly 943 tax reports
• Handle tracking and payment of payroll garnishments
• Initiate direct deposit with banks each payroll as needed
• Enter new hire information into payroll systems
• Import timekeeping information into payroll systems
• Upload general ledger information from payroll into accounting system
• Worker Comp – self-reporting and payment
• Prepare inter-company billing for labor costs
• Reconcile monthly benefits billings
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Post Cash Receipts
• Prepare reports for audits
• General reporting needs
• Perform other job-related duties as needed or directed.

• Ability to work well independently and as a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of Excel and Outlook
• Excellent organization and communication skills 
• Detail oriented
• Ability to handle confidential information

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related area preferred
• Three to five years' payroll processing experience
• Spanish Bi-lingual preferred
