TITLE: Warehouse Manager
LOCATION: Based in the Home Office in Raleigh, NC
REPORTS TO: OPEN
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall operation of the Warehouse facility. Includes ensuring proper procedures are followed, managing multiple packing lines for sweet potatoes, other varieties of potatoes, and onions. Ensuring a safe and efficient facility to package and store potatoes and onions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and makes all decisions around the packing line including enforcement of company policies and procedures
- Supervises all warehouse personnel in addition to packing, Shipping/Receiving, maintenance, cleaning
- Coordinates the packing schedule with product managers
- Responsible for finances of the warehouse operations, most importantly managing labor costs, followed by material and all other costs involved in operations
- Generating consistent reporting methods and daily awareness of including but not limited to packages per day, cost per package, labor reports and cost per package, and dump reports.
- Monitors product inventory accuracy
- Ensures accurate accounting of every package received and shipped
- Understanding of P & L and cost analysis and participation in the process as required
- Enforces procedures that create the optimal handling of the product to prevent damage and maximize production
- Supervises maintenance and service approval of the packing line to ensure the warehouse follows standard food safety practices and required certifications
- Works directly with Quality Control (QC) and sales to ensure effective communication related to packing and repacking
- Manages equipment including rentals, maintenance, and repairs
- Follow food safety guidelines diligently to prevent any possible contamination of the product
- Following all safety procedures to prevent injury to employees or jeopardizing their health
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Basic knowledge of MS Office software programs, including Excel and Outlook
- Famous knowledge a plus - not required
- Ability to read and create reports and spreadsheets
- Effective verbal and written communication skills required
- Bilingual ability (English / Spanish) preferred
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years of management and produce experience preferred
- 2 years packing / warehouse experience preferred
