Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fortinet Network Security Engineer with strong expertise in firewalls, routing, switching, and large-scale network security operations. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of networking experience, hold a valid NSE4 certification, and be skilled in Cisco ASA and Fortinet firewalls, including migration between the two platforms. This role requires excellent communication, deep troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a project-driven environment.
Must-Have Qualifications
- NSE4 Certification (mandatory)
- Cisco ASA experience
- Strong knowledge of Switching, Routing & Firewalls
- Experience with Cisco → Fortinet migration
- CCNA/CCNP certification
- Solid working experience with Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
Core Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls, including policies, NAT, routing, logging, and VPNs.
- Manage and support Cisco ASA firewalls, including migration activities to Fortinet platforms.
- Configure, review, and optimize firewall policies, ensuring security standards and business requirements are met.
- Implement and troubleshoot IPSec and SSL VPN solutions across multiple environments.
- Integrate and manage FortiManager for centralized security policy and configuration management.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across LAN/WAN networks, routing, switching, and security devices.
- Collaborate with network service owners, business teams, and Microland peers to gather requirements and deliver security solutions.
- Ensure infrastructure is aligned with best practices, compliance, and network security standards.
- Support ITIL-based change, incident, and problem management processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including diagrams, configs, runbooks, and migration plans.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Networking & Security
- Strong understanding of Routing/Switching, VLANs, Private VLANs, RSPAN, STP, and advanced switching technologies.
- Knowledge of Load Balancers, IPS/IDS, and general network security architecture.
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies and architectures.
- Hands-on experience with wireless bridges (FluidMesh, Ubiquiti).
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN systems, network infrastructures, and enterprise network connectivity models.
Monitoring & Automation
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools like Splunk and NetScout.
- Knowledge of Python scripting and SOAR automation is a plus.
