Converting Engineer Summer Semester Internship
Job Description
Converting Engineer Intern’s main project will be to assist in upgrading an equipment on a converting line.
The intern will replicate an upgrade that was completed on existing lines. This will involve reverse engineering and duplicating it to one of the converting lines. Work with mechanics to disassemble, remove, transport, position and install the equipment. The intern will work with the converting department to install and or modify sensors and their location. The upgrade will add capability to produce a wider range of products to the production line. The project is set to deliver at the end of Aug 2026. The intern may work on other small projects as well during their work term, including problem solving on the line, creating SOPs, troubleshooting guides, 5S, CIL and other projects identified by the department. KTG USA has opportunities for year-long, semester, and summer internships. This internship will last from the end of spring/winter semester to beginning of fall semester (sometime around May 01 - Aug 31,). Those selected for screening will undergo a technical test to ensure competency. Interviews begin Mid Apr 2026.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Identify and eliminate spare parts from obsolete equipment
- Create exploded view diagrams of current equipment
- Identify and distinguish differences to mechanics and sensors on the production line.
- Assist with the removal, disassembly and transport of existing equipment.
- Work with EI/electrician to install/modify sensor to replicate the upgrade line.
- Attend daily and bi-weekly meetings to provide updates on assigned tasks as required.
- Create documentation of work as required.
- Attend 1:1 meetings with direct manager and actively participate in the mentorship program.
- Work alongside staff in the converting department to complete assigned work.
- Ideal candidate will have completed 1 st or 2 nd year electrical engineering bachelor’s degree with a current GPA of 2.5 or greater
- Strong skills in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of electrical components is a requirement.
- Self-motivated: able to take ownership of assignments, develop work plans and proactively seek feedback to ensure objectives are aligned and met
- Must be flexible and responsive to the needs of the department/facility/business
- Familiarity of paper converting equipment is preferred.
