- Lead a small validation team of 2–3 engineers, including workload planning, task assignment based on individual strengths, performance evaluation, and overall accountability for team deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure alignment with project goals and priorities.
- Offer technical support to OEM partners to integrate Cummins digital solutions from development through release.
- Own end-to-end test execution, including test planning, execution, and result documentation in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system following Agile practices.
- Drive test quality and coverage across projects, ensuring test excellence—not just execution.
- Design and enhance test strategies, including over-the-air (OTA) and data acquisition validation scenarios.
- Collaborate with project managers to track progress, timelines, and critical issues.
- Define and deliver reusable test artifacts and coverage metrics that remain valuable beyond the contract period.
- Develop automation tools to improve testing efficiency and expand test coverage.
- Establish test execution standards, including documentation, test bench management, and progress reporting.
- Embedded/device validation — Advanced: Own end-to-end test execution, debug complex issues, and drive test quality across projects.
- OTA testing — Advanced: Design validation scenarios, identify edge cases, and ensure reliability of software updates.
- Protocols (CAN / J1939 / UDS) — Intermediate: Analyze network communication, interpret logs, and troubleshoot issues.
- CANalyzer / PCAN tools — Intermediate: Perform message simulation, develop scripts, and support test automation.
- Backend systems (Azure/AWS) — Basic: Understand system architecture and support end-to-end integration testing.
- Test strategy & coverage — Advanced: Define test scope, improve coverage, and deliver reusable test artifacts and metrics.
- Automation — Intermediate: Develop tools or scripts to improve efficiency and expand test coverage.
- Team leadership — Basic: Lead a small team, assign tasks, and mentor engineers.
- OEM collaboration — Intermediate: Communicate technical issues clearly and support partner integration activities.
- Documentation — Intermediate: Clearly document test results, issues, and technical concepts for stakeholders.
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems — Intermediate: Create, manage, and maintain test artifacts, test results, and defect records within a PLM system.
- Agile practices — Intermediate: Plan and execute testing within Agile frameworks (e.g., sprint planning, backlog refinement, defect tracking), and provide clear progress updates.
- Experience designing test frameworks or improving validation processes.
- Experience defining validation KPIs and coverage metrics.
- Familiarity with cloud–device integration architecture in telematics systems.
- Experience creating dashboards to track and communicate test progress and quality.
