Key Responsibilities:
Used Equipment Market Analysis & Pricing Strategy
- Research and interpret external market data, including auction trends, dealer comps, UCC filings, and supply indicators
- Monitor signals from commodity markets and seasonality to anticipate value shifts in high-impact categories
- Develop and maintain dynamic pricing models and dashboards that support confident decision-making on trade-in values and list prices Provide insight into regional dynamics and market volatility by equipment category (e.g., combines, headers, high-hp tractors)
Trade-In Valuation Support
- Analyze internal data including trade history, specs, condition reports, warranty coverage, and sales velocity to support accurate valuations
- Recommend high-confidence list and trade values in partnership with the Used Equipment Manager
- Identify risk factors such as geographic mismatch, off-color units, or seasonal demand mismatches Document valuation assumptions for future reference and consistency
Inventory Optimization & Sales Alignment
- Track inventory performance by aging, quote activity, and web engagement
- Maintain a dashboard that surfaces priority inventory for repricing or marketing action
- Recommend pricing or promotional adjustments based on turn targets, margin goals, and forecasted demand Analyze internal “inventory wish list” data to help align future trades with customer demand
Market Intelligence & Forecasting
- Produce regular insights briefs summarizing key market trends, category risk, and inventory opportunities
- Build or support simple forecast models to estimate resale timelines and margin outlooks
- Collaborate with sales and finance teams to translate analysis into smarter quotes and faster decisions
Collaboration & Communication
- Clearly present findings and recommendations to sales, inventory, and executive leadership teams
- Support cross-functional initiatives by providing relevant analysis, visuals, or data summaries
- Help internal teams understand how external factors (e.g., tariffs, input costs, supply shifts) may affect used equipment strategy
Data Sources You’ll Work With:
- External: Tractor Zoom Pro, dealer comps, UCC filings, commodity markets, auction results
- Internal: Anvil data (quotes, inventory, web engagement), CRM activity, equipment availability and demand
Qualifications:
Required
- Experienced with spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets) to organize and analyze large datasets
- Demonstrated understanding of statistics and probability concepts
- Ability to interpret market reports and explain their business implications
- Strong communication skills — able to walk through a report and explain its impact on a specific trade or category
- Familiarity with ag equipment, dealership operations, or a strong willingness to learn Comfort presenting data to non-technical audiences and cross-functional teams
Preferred
- Experience with Salesforce or Anvil CRM tool
- Familiarity with industry pricing tools (Tractor Zoom, Iron Guides).
- Proficient with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Ability to read or lightly modify code (SQL, Python) is a plus, but not required Background in ag, heavy equipment, or dealership-side experience
Education
- We’re flexible. A bachelor’s degree is not required — we care more about your ability to work with data, communicate clearly, and apply insights to business decisions. Relevant job experience matters more than a diploma.
