Job Purpose
Responsible for supporting the marketing team by assisting with project management; development and tracking of marketing projects researching and reporting competitive activity; coordinating meetings and trade shows; maintaining databases; preparing reports; and supports CRM activities with vendors, brand partners and others. This position interacts extensively within the company with sales, marketing, customer service, logistics, and manufacturing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the Marketing Project Manager by helping to monitor and maintain project timelines for timely release of artwork to print vendors. Prepares reports as required.
- Provides support in the development, proofing, approvals, and release of packaging and other marketing materials to vendors.
- Supports Brand Teams by assisting with the creation of promotional material, packaging, sales material, and product displays. Ensures work performed properly presents brand image, meets Company standards for quality and cost effectiveness, and is completed in accordance with established Company procedures and project deadlines.
- Provides support for tradeshows and works with sales, marketing, and shipping teams to assure that materials and samples arrive appropriately.
- Supports team members by helping research competitive products by conducting retail store checks, performing online research, and using other methods to identify product characteristics, pricing, promotional support and maintains this in research databases.
- Develops skills and knowledge by accepting ownership for taking on new and different duties, requests and other opportunities that add value to our business and brands.
- Remains cognizant of trends and developments in field by monitoring competitor activities and products, trade magazines and associations, and feedback from customers. Keeps the Marketing Team informed of relevant developments and disseminates related materials as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts of marketing at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field.
- Two years of directly related job experience.
- Strong technology skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Effective time management and project management skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
- Strong attention to detail and proofing skills
