We are currently seeking an experienced Foreman – Underground Utilities to lead field crews and support the successful completion of heavy civil construction projects throughout the Salt Lake City area and surrounding markets.
Key Responsibilities
Crew Leadership & Field Operations
- Lead and supervise underground utility crews in daily field operations
- Coordinate work activities with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Maintain production schedules while ensuring quality and safety standards are met
- Train and mentor field employees while promoting a strong team culture
- Oversee installation of wet utility systems including water, sewer, and storm drain
- Plan pipe installation sequencing with project leadership
- Ensure proper trenching, excavation, pipe placement, bedding, and backfill operations
- Verify line and grade using lasers, transits, levels, and other field instruments
- Operate heavy equipment as needed, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and backhoes
- Coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower to maintain project efficiency
- Ensure crews are working from current plans and specifications
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance standards
- Conduct daily safety meetings and maintain a safe jobsite environment
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules
- Monitor traffic control and site safety near active roadways and public areas
Requirements
- 3 years of experience as a Foreman in heavy civil construction
- Strong underground wet utility experience (water, sewer, storm drain, etc.)
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Valid driver’s license with clean and insurable driving record
- Experience reading civil plans and construction drawings
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced field environments
Preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Confined Space Certification
- CDL License
- Experience operating heavy equipment and utility installation equipment
