Private Equity Associate – Power & Renewables
Location: Houston, TX
Overview
Our client is a leading private equity firm focused on investments across the power, renewables, and energy transition landscape. The firm is seeking to add a Private Equity Associate (2–5 years of experience) to its investment team. This role offers meaningful responsibility across the full investment lifecycle, from origination through execution and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and execute investments across power generation, renewables (solar, wind, storage), and broader energy transition assets
- Build and review detailed financial models (DCF, LBO, project finance, operating models)
- Conduct commercial, financial, and technical due diligence in coordination with internal teams and external advisors
- Support transaction execution including valuation analysis, IC memos, IC presentations, and deal documentation
- Assist with portfolio company monitoring, performance analysis, and strategic initiatives
- Participate in market research, industry analysis, and investment thesis development
- Engage with management teams, lenders, advisors, and co-investors throughout the deal process
Candidate Profile
- 2–5 years of professional experience in private equity and/or investment banking
- Required: Investment banking experience, ideally within Power, Renewables, Infrastructure, or Energy
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills; experience with project finance structures is a plus
- Solid understanding of power markets, renewable technologies, and regulatory frameworks preferred
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university; MBA or advanced degree a plus but not required
