We are hiring a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Associate to join a private equity backed energy company. This role focuses on delivering high-quality financial insights that directly inform strategic decision-making and enhance business performance at the senior management and board level.
In this role, you will own and maintain core corporate financial models, lead variance and forecasting analysis, and prepare polished materials for executive and board presentations. You will work closely with FP&A, Business Development, and operational stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and provide actionable insight into business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and refine complex corporate financial models to support strategic planning, valuation, and scenario analysis
- Own variance analysis, comparing actual results to forecasts and plans, and clearly communicate key drivers and implications
- Prepare executive- and board-ready presentation materials that translate complex financial data into clear insights
- Support business development initiatives through financial analysis, opportunity evaluation, and business case development
- Drive FP&A-related analysis, including forecasting, trend analysis, and performance monitoring to support decision-making
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in financial modeling and analysis who are comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced environment with exposure to senior leadership. You should be able to independently translate data into insights and take ownership of recurring analytical deliverables.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the oil & gas industry or other asset-intensive / regulated industries
- 3 years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, investment analysis, or a related role
- Direct experience preparing materials for senior leadership or board-level review
Comp: $100,000 to $130,000 base salary bonus (<$120k at 15%, >$120k at 20%)
Location: Denver, office based 3-4 days per week
