Our client, a top-rated insurance carrier, is expanding their underwriting department and seeking to add a Senior Territory Production Casualty Underwriter to their team. This person will be responsible for underwriting and pricing new and renewal Commercial Casualty business within the Excess & Surplus (E&S) market. Working closely with producers, this role focuses on soliciting new business, managing renewals, and ensuring underwriting profitability across the Western Massachusetts and surrounding territories. This is a fully remote position with a company vehicle!
- Assess individual risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions for complex surplus lines commercial casualty policies.
- Develop, analyze, and evaluate information to identify exposures and make well-informed underwriting decisions.
- Visit producers / wholesale brokers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, assisting in client retention and achieving mutual business growth.
- Achieve established production and loss ratio targets for the assigned regional territory.
- Maintain awareness of market trends and competitive landscape to drive new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
- 3 - 7 years experience in Commercial Casualty underwriting, preferably in the surplus lines/E&S market.
- Must have Production Underwriting and/or Territory Marketing experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building producer relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
Salary/Benefits:
