Kforce is working with a client in the Saint Louis area to identify a Senior Payroll Specialist. This role will take ownership of end-to-end, multi-state payroll operations. We're looking for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who can navigate challenges independently and drive accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

Kforce is working with a client in the Saint Louis area to identify a Senior Payroll Specialist. This role will take ownership of end-to-end, multi-state payroll operations. We're looking for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who can navigate challenges independently and drive accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll for salaried, hourly, and clinical staff, including bi-weekly and monthly cycles
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations (taxes, ACA, wage laws, garnishments)
- Maintain payroll data accuracy within ADP, including employee lifecycle changes and corrections
- Partner with HR and Finance on benefits, leave management, and payroll alignment
- Support GL mapping, reporting, and payroll-related reconciliations
- Oversee state tax accounts, unemployment claims, and related reporting
- Prepare payroll reports and analysis for audits, budgeting, and leadership insights
- Manage year-end and quarterly processes (W-2s, 1095-Cs, tax reconciliations)
- Act as primary point of contact for payroll inquiries
- Drive compliance, process improvements, and documentation (SOPs)
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of general ledger experience (or equivalent combination)
- FPC or CPP certification a plus
- 3-5 years of multi-state payroll experience; Leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and tax requirements
- Experience with payroll systems (ADP preferred) and related accounting software
- Background in payroll tax filings, unemployment, and garnishments
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Able to work independently and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Flexibility to support payroll cycles as needed
