Kforce has a client that is seeking a Property Accountant in Malvern, PA. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full-cycle property accounting, including monthly and quarterly financial close processes
- Prepare, review, and analyze property-level Balance Sheets and Income Statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness of revenues, expenses, and account balances
- Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations for assigned properties
- Review, code, and approve invoices, ensuring accurate property and GL coding in Yardi
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of general ledger and tenant ledger balances; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Partner with Property Management to resolve tenant ledger and general ledger escalated issues while maintaining strong tenant relationships
- Prepare and post journal entries related to lease activity, accruals, amortization, depreciation, and other accounting adjustments
- Develop, maintain, and reconcile supporting schedules and workpapers for monthly and quarterly financial reporting
- Maintain thorough supporting documentation for journal entries in accordance with company policies and audit requirements
- Prepare annual CAM reconciliations, supporting Accounts Receivable billing and responding to tenant inquiries
- Budgets and budget-to-actual variance analyses
- Insurance and real estate tax allocations
- Fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and commissions
- Amortization and depreciation schedules
- CAM analyses and reforecasts
- Perform bi-annual CAM reforecasts and assist with ongoing variance analysis
- Prepare cash flow projections and support annual budget modeling
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and adherence to Accounting Department reporting deadlines
- Assist with special projects, tax adjustments, ad-hoc analyses, and other duties as assigned
- 5 years of property accounting experience with full-cycle accounting exposure
- Proven experience with CAM reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical and inquisitive mindset
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
- Experience accounting for multiple properties
- Must be able to pass a CAM reconciliation screening test
- Yardi experience preferred
- Experience working in a small business or lean accounting environment
