The Director of Accounting is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy in accordance with GAAP, compliance with and maintenance of internal controls, financial reporting and budgeting. The Director of Accounting is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy in accordance with GAAP, compliance with and maintenance of internal controls, financial reporting and budgeting. Responsibilities:
- Manage general ledger, A/P, A/R, and ensure timely, accurate financial statement preparation
- Maintain internal controls, and recommend changes as necessary, ensuring adherence to GAAP and other regulations
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, collaborating across departments; Includes both property level and general and administrative/entity level budgets
- Prepare reforecasts as necessary
- Prepare reports, analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations to executives
- Coordinate annual audits and tax filings for multiple entities, manage tax planning, and ensure timely filings
- Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting processes and systems
- Recruit, train, mentor, and manage accounting staff, fostering development
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA/MBA preferred
- 7-10 years of experience to include 7 years of SEC/public company accounting experience
- Extensive experience in accounting, including significant management/leadership roles
- Experience with SEC/public company filings required
- Experience in real estate preferred
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP), leadership, communication, organization, multitasking, and problem-solving
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Strong Excel skills required

Salary : $180,000 - $195,000
