Kforce has a client in NYC that is seeking a Desktop Support Administrator. Essential Functions:
- Virtual Desktop Administrator will be building, editing, and deploying of images for new workstations to corporate employees, including laptops and desktops
- Will serve as the lead for upkeep and maintenance of deployed workstations, including OS upgrades, software installs, and troubleshooting of software and image issues
- Diagnose and resolve unique, nonrecurring problems associated with application software and operating systems; Determine the source of problems and classify their level, priority, and nature
- Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support computer workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other computer equipment
- As a Virtual Desktop Administrator, you will install and support PC, laptop, tablet and mobile hardware and software (certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft or HDI are a plus)
- Create alternative methods of completing tasks, correcting user errors and system inconsistencies to improve the desktop team function
- Participate in hardware and software reviews and recommend purchases
- Maintain inventory of installed software, manage software licensing, and create policies and procedures for upgrades
- Work with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensure that new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule
- As a Desktop Admin, you will analyze and make recommendations for hardware and software standardization
- Architect, design, and implementation of SMS/SCCM as well as deployment of applications within a large-scale environment
- Degree or pursuing degree in Computer Science
- 2-3 years of experience as a desktop support technician supporting Windows 7/10; Mac OS and mobile devices is a plus
- Analytical skills essential: PC/Mac skills (MS Office products, Outlook, Google Apps)
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Networking protocols, concepts, and terminologies
- Scripting Language (PowerShell) experience
- Edit MSI packages via ORCA experience
- Advanced knowledge of editing and scripting of PC/Laptop drivers
- Windows Server and Active Directory experience
- Experience troubleshooting and enhancing desktop security and configuration management through Group Policy Objects (GPO), in-depth experience with Active Directory and GPOs/GPPs as well as the ability to create custom policies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to document processes and procedures
- Strong knowledge of at least one imaging/automation tools
- Strong ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities quickly
- Self-motivated, with high energy and engaging level of enthusiasm
- SMS/SCCM management/experience
