Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of project drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Perform engineering analysis, design, calculations, and reports.
- Evaluate land use and zoning requirements and navigate the zoning ordinances and site plan approval processes.
- Prepare and submit permit applications, working through agency review processes to secure approvals.
- Occasionally visit project sites during construction to assess progress and quality of work.
- Collaborate with project teams, including owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Mentor and provide training to junior staff.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Required).
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years in civil engineering with at least 3 years of design experience on land development projects (Required).
- Skills: Proficiency with Civil 3D, Office 360 (Excel, Word), and other relevant software.
- Additional Experience: K-12 site design experience is a plus, but not required.
- Language: Fluent in English (Required).
- Location: Candidates must reside within a 2-hour commute of Rochester Hills, Michigan.
- Office-based work with occasional site visits.
- Attend client meetings and travel by car or plane as required for project needs.
