Clinical Laboratory Manager-Cleveland, OH
Direct Hire | Full-Time
Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 $15,000 Sign-On Bonus
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Manager to lead laboratory operations in a high-quality, fast-paced clinical environment. This role is responsible for the planning, coordination, supervision, and overall performance of laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while driving efficiency, safety, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily laboratory operations, including planning, assigning, and directing work
- Supervise, mentor, and develop laboratory staff; support leadership training and growth
- Oversee quality assurance programs, ensuring compliance with QC standards and regulatory requirements
- Manage staffing, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and corrective actions
- Prepare for and lead regulatory inspections (CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA)
- Drive process improvements, review test performance, and manage laboratory data systems
- Oversee SOPs and ensure accuracy within laboratory databases
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and resources
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure environmental health & safety (EHS) compliance and maintain a safe lab environment
- Participate in R&D and organizational committees as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field
- CC(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) certification required
- Minimum 8 years of clinical laboratory experience (including auto-chem testing)
- Minimum 4 years of supervisory or leadership experience
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and drive operational efficiency
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Frequent lifting of up to 10 lbs; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
- Manual dexterity required for laboratory instruments and equipment
