Title: Inside Sales Manager – Bayonne, NJ or Brooklyn, NY
Location: On-site Monday through Friday. **Candidates must live within a commutable distance.
To be considered, you MUST have these skills:
- Experience in one of the following: PVF, plumbing, mechanical systems, hydronics, drains, HVAC, or waterworks
- 3 years working in a sales capacity within wholesale distribution
- 3 years of supervisory experience within wholesale distribution

Role Responsibilities
Team Leadership
• Recruit, hire, and train inside and counter sales staff
• Manage schedules for full coverage
• Conduct coaching, one-on-ones, and performance reviews
• Lead product knowledge training with vendors
Sales & Revenue Management
• Set and track sales goals with leadership
• Monitor sales performance, margins, and quote conversions
• Review major quotes and pricing exceptions
• Drive upselling and cross-selling
• Support outside sales on major accounts and special orders
Customer Relationship Management
• Handle escalated issues
• Maintain relationships with key contractor accounts
• Ensure follow-up on open quotes, backorders, and special orders
• Implement improvements based on customer feedback
Operational Oversight
• Ensure accurate order entry, pricing, and fulfillment
• Coordinate across the warehouse, purchasing, and outside sales
• Oversee RMAs and warranty claims
• Manage processes for special orders and logistics
Product & Pricing
• Maintain knowledge of product lines and industry trends
• Review inventory levels and partner with purchasing
• Manage pricing strategies and contractor programs
• Oversee counter merchandising
Reporting & KPIs
• Review sales reports, margins, and customer activity
• Track KPIs such as fill rate, order accuracy, and counter volume
• Present performance updates to leadership
Process Improvement
• Standardize workflows for quoting, returns, and communication
• Identify inefficiencies and improve processes
• Ensure adherence to safety and company policies
Vendor Coordination
• Partner with vendor reps for training and promotions
• Attend vendor meetings to stay current on products
• Manage special orders and communicate lead times
Cross-Functional Support
• Support leadership on staffing and performance
• Act as second-in-command when the Director of Sales is out
• Assist with inventory counts and operational projects
Experience & Skills
• 3–5 years wholesale distribution experience
• 3 years in PVF, plumbing, mechanical systems, hydronics, drains, HVAC, or waterworks
• 3 years supervisory experience
• Strong MS Office skills; ERP experience (DDI or Eclipse) preferred
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Understanding of the sales cycle
• Bilingual skills are a plus
