What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at KCM TECHNICAL?
The Maintenance Technical Lead responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, implement and review maintenance and repair activities to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment and buildings in support of ongoing operations.
- Oversee and direct the activities of a small multi
- trade maintenance crew to complete required tasks in a safe and timely manner.
- Comply with the collective bargaining agreement, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA, corporate policies and other applicable regulations in the organization and execution of maintenance activities.
- Develop maintenance strategies, programs and make improvements to existing policies.
- Troubleshoot automated testing system issues and determine corrective actions
- Manage all aspects of environmental health and safety conformance for the skilled trades
- Oversee a preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment and facilities
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and workforce availability
- Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requests
- Point of contact for janitorial services contract.
- Perform environmental inspections and coordinate waste pickups.
- Procure parts, material and rentals required to complete maintenance tasks
- Track data for performance measurable such as Preventative Maintenance task completion, overtime, etc.
- Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment
Basic Qualification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial automation experience with project management experience
- Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
- Excellent organization, written, and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with employees at all levels of the Plant, from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership
- Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‐solving experience
- Goal‐oriented self‐starter with the ability to lead teams
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop skilled trade employees
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field
- Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
- Experience leading maintenance teams in a union environment
- Green Belt/Red X/Six Sigma training
- Experience with controls, robotics, drives, system‐level communication systems, sealing systems, glass cell systems, conveyance systems, welding (all types), paint process and associated systems, and vision systems and sensors
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs
