Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prospect and engage small to mid-sized companies with recurring transportation needs.
- Propose right-sized freight brokerage solutions tailored to each customer’s shipping volume and service requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including logistics coordinators and supply chain managers.
- Support the sales process through discovery calls, solution overviews, and basic rate and service presentations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and excellent service delivery.
- Accurately track sales activity and update customer data within CRM systems.
- Monitor customer activity and freight trends to uncover upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
Competencies
- Strong foundation in B2B sales with experience in outbound prospecting and customer development.
- Comfortable discussing freight needs and presenting transportation solutions to small and mid-sized businesses.
- Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
- Resilient, self-motivated, and goal-oriented with a drive to exceed sales targets.
- Able to manage a high volume of prospects and accounts efficiently.
- Organized and detail-oriented with consistent CRM and pipeline management.
- Coachable and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic brokerage environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of sales experience, ideally in a non-asset-based freight brokerage or logistics environment.
- Exposure to truckload, LTL, or other brokerage service lines a plus.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), email outreach tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prior experience in inside sales, SDR/BDR roles, or logistics account coordination is beneficial.
