Payroll/Operations Specialist

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting has partnered with a growing organization seeking to hire a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations in a fast-paced, multi-state environment. This role will be responsible for assisting with payroll processing, reviewing employee expense activity, and ensuring accurate payroll data across the organization.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with both internal teams and employees to resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in processing payroll by collecting and reviewing timecards, expense submissions, and related documentation
• Review employee expenses and reimbursements to ensure compliance with internal policies
• Prepare payroll-related reports and conduct periodic audits to verify accuracy of payroll data
• Follow up with employees and managers to resolve missing or incomplete payroll information
• Respond to payroll inquiries and assist in resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Partner with HR to support employee lifecycle changes including new hires, terminations, and payroll updates
• Maintain organized payroll records and support ongoing payroll process improvements
  
  

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in payroll, accounting, or a related field
• 1 years of experience supporting payroll in a multi-state environment preferred
• Familiarity with payroll processes for both hourly and salaried employees
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Outlook, and collaboration platforms
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to evolving processes
  
  

Salary: $50,000-$65,000 Based on Experience
